This year’s Unbroken 2022 qualifier gathered an amazing amount of athletes and among all of our Finnish athletes were many international athletes.
The results were very even throughout the whole scoreboard and because of this evenness, the competition organisers have decided on a change that differs from the initial information given. The main division ”Yleinen” has been decided to be kept as one whole division instead of the Elite and RX divisions, which means that all of the 50 finalists in the main division will compete together throughout the whole competition.
“ The level of the athletes has increased every year and this year is no different. Even in Finland there are more and more athletes training at CossFit that aim to compete. This is a great thing and I believe that the rookies will be able to challenge the more familiar athletes on the competition floor” states the event organiser Jukkis Peltonen.
Qualifier performances were of good quality, even though there were minor mishaps with the videoing, and some of the missing videos delayed the result checks for a small amount of time.
“This year’s video checks were mainly easy to do via the result system Reppi.fi. The athletes had a great view of the movement standards while performing the events. Some had a few minor mishaps that resulted in small deductions. Also surprisingly many were missing the tie-breaks”, main judge of the competition Kari Isokivijärvi commented.
Based on the qualifier performances the finals are going to be very exciting this year. Our new international athletes will also add to this by giving this year’s Unbroken 2022 Lahti Edition a hint of extra spice.
The competition invites will be sent on Monday. The competition places need to be claimed on 25.8.2022 the latest against an invitation. After this date unclaimed places will be given to the next athlete on the qualifier scoreboard.
